My business is helping leaders to build better relationships with their internal (employees) and external customers. I do this in two ways:

I run Leadership Breakthrough, Inc. to focus on improving individual and team performance.  I work directly with:

  • Individuals – who seek impartial guidance on their career, skill development and ability to influence work relationships more effectively. The first stage in the process is to establish a base line with methods tailored to give you information to make better decisions. The second stage is to establish realistic goals in a manageable time frame. The third stage is exploration, which will be different for each person. Along the way, there may be barriers for you to overcome and we develop solutions together. In the final stage, you meet your goal(s) or revise it based on new information.
  • Groups – who may be functional or dysfunctional and strive to build more trust – with each other and their leadership. I use my proven techniques that reinforce what is working well and identifies the areas for improvement quickly. Armed with this knowledge, I directly engage with your group to build their skills within the areas that affect performance and efficiency. Sometimes, it may mean working individually with you too!
  • Organizations – through speaking engagements to raise awareness on employee, management and leadership best practices.

I am certified to deliver personal feedback in a number assessment tools: Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI), Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), The Center for Creative Leadership 360 Assessments (CCL), Firo-B, Strong and TKI.

The broader way I help individuals hone their personal skills is through Elephants at Work.

A more common phrase is the Elephant in the Room. The elephant represents the discussion that everyone wants to avoid or no one has the guts to bring it up. Often the discussion is about something important. I recall family secrets tightly held as I grew up and did not understand why.

The same holds true in organizations – employees and managers want to say something, do something or be someone. They just do not know how to do it, they are often afraid to ask or fear they will carry it out poorly.

As we build this community, each of you has the opportunity to interact with guest authors and myself. We share our personal views on leadership skills and personal accountability for mastering your own career. We welcome questions and encourage your comments because it tells us what is on your mind.

Lynne,
Your blog is very innovative, challenging. Makes me envious. Takes a lot of guts, I think, to talk about “wimpy bosses” but it such a revealing way. The power of imagery.
Nice job. Thanks for sharing. Got to you through LinkedIn.
